Strategic Update: Unifying Our Global Portfolio Under the SHIKARI® Brand
For more than two decades, Matriks Biotek has developed biological-drug monitoring technologies in Ankara and brought them to researchers, pharmaceutical companies and laboratories around the world.
With the establishment of our European headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, we are now entering the next chapter of that journey.
As part of this next stage, we are transitioning away from all Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and white-label supply relationships. Going forward, biological-drug monitoring products developed and manufactured by Matriks Biotek will be supplied under our proprietary SHIKARI® brand.
This is a company-wide strategic policy, applied consistently and without exception across all OEM and white-labelrelationships. It is not a decision directed at any individual company.
As part of this broader transition, our longstanding OEM relationship, which began with BioVision and continued following its acquisition by Abcam, has concluded. We sincerely thank the teams involved throughout this history for thebusiness and cooperation we have shared over many years. This relationship, together with our OEM partnerships morebroadly, played an important role in bringing our products to researchers internationally, and we greatly value that shared history.
With our European presence now established, the time has come to bring our products, scientific expertise and customer relationships together under one clearly visible identity: SHIKARI®.
Researchers, pharmaceutical companies and laboratories should be able to identify and communicate directly with theoriginal developer and manufacturer of the products they use. This direct access will make it easier to request modifications to existing kits or discuss the development of custom assays tailored to specific research needs, while enabling us to provide more consistent scientific support, clearer product information and more responsive service across international markets.
Our complete portfolio remains available under its original SHIKARI® brand. Customers within the European Union may contact Matrix Biotek SL in Barcelona, Spain. Customers in other international markets may continue to contact Matriks Biotek in Ankara or local distributors supplying SHIKARI® products.
SHIKARI® product development and manufacturing will continue at Matriks Biotek's facility in Ankara under its ISO 13485:2016-certified quality management system.
Working together with Matriks Biotek, Matrix Biotek SL will take the leading role in our research and development strategy, European research collaborations, European commercial development, strategic partnerships and customer access. Matriks Biotek will continue serving markets outside the European Union from Ankara, together with its international distribution network.

Its proprietary SHIKARI® platform has been available internationally since 2008 and today comprises 136 products covering 45 biological drugs. SHIKARI® products are used by pharmaceutical companies, research institutions and laboratories in more than 40 countries.
Production is carried out under an ISO 13485:2016-certified quality management system. All SHIKARI® products are supplied for Research Use Only.
